What's happening at the farm
Updated Monday 14th April 2025
Kookootonga was open 9-4 EVERY day, Saturday March 8th to Sunday April 13th.
We will open again in March 2026
During each season this site is constantly updated to let you know exactly what is happening in the orchard.
This year, as Easter is late, we NOT be open for the Easter holiday.
Every year varies but often the large amount of quality chestnuts are available in early/mid March through to early April.
The walnuts are ready later, usually late March and into April.
Weekends are our busiest periods, often those who arrive after 2pm on Sunday, find that the best of the nuts that have fallen over the weekend have been gathered.
Visitors who arrive during the week find that the farm is very peaceful.
Allow at least over an hour for your visit, arriving after 3pm is not advised.
Cards and EFTpos accepted - no surcharge
If you are arriving by car there is no need to book, just turn up. No entrance fees.
We cannot accommodate buses.
When you arrive at Mount Irvine follow the green and white signs to Kookootonga's car park entrance.
Logon to ChestnutsAustralia for information on storage, preparation and recipes
